Irina Souiki
Irina Souiki is a photographer who shoots 'abandoned beauty' which consists of peeling paint, crumpled wall paper and empty chairs.
As a photographer she highlights degeneration and its effect on buildings and their envir
onment. As a photographer she usually focuses on colour within unseen places,
I took an interest in the second photograph featured previous to myself going to Stand Football Club, this was the first abandoned building i knew i had the opportunity to photograph the interior as well as the extrerior. I was hoping to photograph in the style of this Irina Souiki's 'unplugged' photograph.
I planned on photographing an electric meter or an electricity switch that was damaged due to the destruction of this abandoned building. I wanted to do this as i believe the compostion of this photograph (unplugged) of Irina Souiki's is strong and powerful through the brightness and the featuring of the subject being in the lower left third up into the middle left third.
One aspect that i favour about Souiki's photography is that it lets your imagination wonder about the past lives of each place and object featured within her photography. The reason for this is, there is no information with each photograph she creates, all that is given is a title, or so when i researched this artist, this is all that was publishing with the photograph.
